HOW TO HELP
As a Maui visitor, you can support the Rise Above Plastics On Vacation Program in the following ways:
Ask your vacation rental if they provide filtered water and reusable containers. If not, bring your own reusable containers (tap water is safe to drink on Maui) and encourage them to join the Rise Above Plastics On Vacation program!
Carry a REUSEable water bottle
Review local recycling guidelines and ask how to RECYCLE at your vacation rental or hotel
REFUSE single use plastics such as takeout containers or utensils. Carry your own instead!
Support business who care about the environment
Rent beach gear rather than buying it
Write reviews! If you notice that a company could improve their environmental impact by reducing single use plastic distribution, note that. If you notice that a company is putting in efforts to divert plastic waste from our oceans and landfill, recognize that!
