Maui Beach Cleanups

Join Us at Our Next Cleanup

Our next cleanup will be Feb. 18th 11am to 2PM: Kahului Beach Road, along the rocky beach just west of Kahului Harbor across from Veterans Peace Park. Turn right into the gravel parking on the makai side of the road before the Jack-N-the Box. Look for our Surfrider flags at the location. Please feel free to bring your own gloves and reusable bag or bucket, or our gloves and grain bags can be borrowed.  Don’t forget to bring your water bottle, hat and sunscreen!

All volunteers get 30% off food at Moku Roots on the day of the cleanups! - Moku Roots is offering a 30% discount the day of events for those volunteers that post a picture at event and tag both Maui Surfrider and Moku Roots.

Volunteers, please sign the beach cleanup waiver:

Collecting More Than Trash

At every beach cleanup we host our volunteers collect data on the trash they pick up on provided data cards. We take this information and log it in our national Surfrider database to track the efforts of each of our local Surfrider chapters. Together our foundation removes thousands of pounds of waste from coastal areas and the data we collect helps to guide and support our initiatives.

Sponsors Support Our Cleanup Efforts

We work with local Maui businesses to sponsor our beach cleanups and help spread the word. Sponsors provide us with donations that support our cleanup costs like dumpster rentals and disposal fees. They also provide food or beverages at some events keeping our volunteers fueled for the work at hand. Interested in becoming a beach cleanup sponsor? Email our Beach Cleanup Coordinator at
